my technique for
making pictures and wall hangings, using a combination
of collage and quilting. In other words "Cut, stick
and quilt!"
Using fabrics to "paint" a picture has evolved over the last four
years, from making a simple pattern of a butterfly for
my quilting class to a full time occupation. I find
it both inspiring and rewarding and the name sums up
what its all about.
There is such an abundance of beautiful fabrics
available so it isn't difficult to find the right
colours and textures to create an unusual and exciting
wall hanging.
The fabrics themselves can be the reason for a new
project. "Elephants' Child" and "Tranquil Scene" on
the gallery page were both inspired by gorgeous hand
dyed fabrics I found at the NEC. I could see
elephant's ears in one and a line of trees in the
other!
The gallery page shows my work to date and the leopard has now moved there.
There is also a new gallery page devoted to work created by ladies attending workshops
and classes in the technique.
No art experience needed to produce
wonderful work like this!
